Curriculum Overview
CURRICULUM INTENT
At Cedars, we ensure our students receive ambitious and inspiring learning to create CEDARS learners who all achieve excellence now and in their future choices and careers. The curriculum is designed to develop active commitment within and beyond lessons.
Our curriculum develops our learners as confident and resilient individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives. They leave us as responsible citizens who can make a positive contribution to society.
We encourage and foster a love of reading so that students acquire and can confidently use tier two and three vocabulary and articulate themselves verbally and through their academic writing.
In addition, our curriculum allows students to experience a diverse range of cultures and it represents the voices and achievements of all people. We provide opportunities throughout our curriculum, for our students to become digital citizens, who are equipped for the fast changing modern world.
The Cedars progressive and aspirational five year curriculum bridges years 8 and 9 and prepares learners for the academic rigor of KS4, 5 and beyond. Through a well-sequenced curriculum, students have many opportunities across all subjects to practise application of taught content and skills so that they can achieve their limitless ambitions and aspirations.
